Team Punjab is one of the best teams in the Indian Premier League under the captaincy of prolific Indian middle order batsmen Yuvraj Singh. They are a strong batting side with a mediocre bowling department.

To start with their batting strength, their trump card is for sure their captain Yuvraj Singh. With Yuvraj on song any total is meagre and attainable. Next they have the likes of Simon Katich, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, Ravi Bopara, Karan Goel and also Irfan Pathan who can bat a bit. When we look at their bowling strength it is weak right at the moment. They have some of the best bowlers in the world like Brett Lee, Irfan Pathan and Sreesanth. But to their agony Lee is out of form and nursing an injury. Sreesanth is also back from an injury lay-off and Irfan’s performance is not that consistent. They have too good spinners in Piyush Chawla, Ramesh Powar and even Yuvraj can bowl. But both Piyush and Powar are out of sorts as the tournament progresses but Yuvraj has set an example to both of them by taking a hat-trick against team Bangalore.

On the whole the team is expected to post a decent show this time around and might make the semis and it depends on how they perform as team.
